Middle School After School Tournaments

Tournament Time:

  • 3:00 – approximately 7:30 pm

Students will be transported to the tournament by bus, but parents are responsible for picking up their children at the end of the tournament.

  • MAST #3 – Wednesday, November 16th
  • MAST #4 – Tuesday, December 13th
  • MAST #5 – Wednesday, January 25th
  • MAST #6 – Tuesday, February 28th
  • MAST #7 – Thursday, March 30th


  • After School practices will be held at Walter C. Young Middle School from 3:30 – 5:00 pm.  Parents are responsible for picking students up promptly at the conclusion of practice.

    • Tuesday, November 15th
    • Tuesday, November 22dn NO PRACTICE…Thanksgiving Holiday
    • Tuesday, November 29th

Additional Information:

Students must have a completed and signed “Annual Parent Teacher Permission Form” turned in before attending any tournament.

Tournament entry fees are covered by the Broward County Debate Iniative, however, students who drop from the tournament after the registration deadline will be responsible for their entry fee and students dropping the day of the tournament will be responsible for paying a $25.00 same day drop fee.

Tournament Attire:

  • Boys
    • dark dress pants
    • white shirt
    • neck tie
    • dark socks
    • dress shoes
    • Suit or sports jacket (if possible)
  • Girls
    • dark slacks or skirt (modest length)
    • white blouse
    • stockings
    • dark dress shoes (maximum 2″ heels)
    • Hair back off the face
    • Modest makeup allowed
    • small, simple jewelry
